The newest in outdoor lighting technologies and unique fire pits are popular for a reason: we want to be outside, entertaining or lounging in our backyards, but we also want to be warm and cosy.

The sensation is mesmerising, tranquillizing, and the pinnacle of relaxation whether you’re sitting around a campfire in a field, on a beach, or a little confined brazier in your garden (perhaps more so in your yard on a comfy chair with throw cushions and blankets than in a field). But according to San Francisco designer Pablo Pardo of Pablo Design, we may not always consider how much we appreciate the “pockets of darkness” when it comes to lighting our outdoor areas.
