Project Details
This old lakeside cabin was renovated to give a cozy cottage feel, embracing a timeless look. Dave and Jenny purchased the cabin and wanted to remake it into a lakehouse for their neighbours Bob and Jill.
In the backyard, the DreamCast Skyline 72 modern firepit added a timeless and elegant detail. The textured look of this concrete fire pit melded with the overall redesign of the cabin and created a space perfect for hanging out. Finished in the grey cloud colour and equipped with a 65,000 BTU low clearance manual ignition burner, it takes the center stage. The gas firepit creates a warm and inviting space, perfect for creating happy memories during cozy family get-togethers.
A Modern Anchor With The Old World Charm
The Skyline 72 plays a quiet but powerful role in the finished space. Rather than competing with the surrounding design elements, it brings everything together. Its linear frame draws the eye to the expansive natural surroundings and provides warmth to everyone in the seating area. Additionally, it sits beautifully within the patio area outside a beautiful tent.
The backyard turned out beautifully, thanks to Jenny and Dave’s exceptional work in bringing the place to life. In addition to the 6ft fire table that offers perfect seating for up to 6 people around it, the backyard features a humongous tent, woodfire hot tub and a flower bed surrounding the cottage. Though this is a novel setup with the tent, the Skyline 72 fire table has a classic design, making it perfect for any outdoor patio.
Backyard Makeover
Before: The backyard was abandoned and full of weeds. It did not have any area for family gatherings or entertainment.
After: A large patio off the back door was built and surrounded by trees for privacy. The crew added a fire pit and seating area, a wood fire hot tub and a lovely tent. The addition of the Skyline 72 transforms the patio into a place where people naturally gather. The fireplace brings warmth, visual structure and a sense of calm, making the space feel finished, inviting and ready for real life – kids, conversation and quiet evenings included.
